"Beloved Friends"
acrylics and collage on a 5x7 stretched canvas
The summer before my senior year in high school my family moved from Indiana to Arizona. I remember sighing as I realized this would be my third school in four years. I had no idea what a normal "high school experience" felt like. Yeah, I was prepared to focus on my schoolwork and make it out so I could get on with bigger and better things. I had let go of the "AWESOME Senior Year!" idea and just wanted to get it over with.
Life had a different plan.
Within the first month of school I had managed to surround myself with about a dozen fabulous friends. We were BFFs before people even called it that. It was nothing short of amazing and beautiful. Never before had I felt such a kinship and bond so fast. These girls were nothing short of awesome. Most of the friendships I made that year continue to this day some 16 (cough, cough) years later.
These women are special to me and I owe them for helping make my last year in high school an "AWESOME Senior Year!".
Ladies, thank you, thank you, thank you.
This one's for you.
I love ALL your work, but this one is made for sharing. love it :)
